Erin Riddle’s experience with texts and languages is varied and lifelong.
Her fascination with the written word began as a high school student growing up on a dairy farm in rural western New York, where she read endlessly to expand her horizons beyond small-town life and to experience new ideas and worlds.
She completed a B.A. in German Language and Literature at Ithaca College, while also minoring in Art History and Spanish Language and Literature. After graduation, Ithaca became Erin’s long-term home as she worked in book publishing for seven years.
Eventually, graduate school called and she attended Binghamton University and completed a M.A. in Comparative Literature, Ph.D. in Translation Studies, and certificates in Spanish and German to English translation.
Erin currently resides in Owego, NY, and teaches academic writing, research, and rhetoric in higher education. Since founding her own language consultation business, she also works as a freelance translator, editor, proofreader, and content writer. She also consults clients in language learning and public speaking.
Erin’s unique background in languages, natural sciences, art history, literature, and rhetoric combines extensive academic training and “real” world experience valuable for a variety of contexts.
